Coach Rudolf Straeuli was delighted with the Springbok trial that took place at Loftus Versfeld on Sunday.

The game was won 58-47 by the Bobby Skinstad-led White team in a trial which was designed to select a squad of 22 players for the first Test against Wales in Bloemfontein on June 8.

There were plenty of players from both sides thatimpressed with fly-half Andre Pretorius, flanker AJ Venter, No.8 Shaun Sowerby, centre Andre Snyman and fullback Conrad Jantjes all catching the eye.

Straeuli commented, "I'm really delighted at the type of rugby we saw today. It was a wonderful day and it was very successful. It certainly shows that there is talent out there in this country, we just need to roll up our sleeves and find them."

However there were injuries to wing Stefan Terblanche and centre De Wet Barry. Terblanche was stretchered off late in the second half and Barry suffered an ankle injury, but the seriousness of their injuries remains unclear.
