Revised Barbarians squad
May 21, 2002
All Black winger Jonah Lomu heads the revised list of Barbarians preparing for clashes with England, Wales and Scotland over the next 10 days. Lomu heads a squad which has amassed 1,069 international caps in total and will provide a stiff test for England, Wales and Scotland, who they face on their short three-match tour. Clive Woodward is due to name his England side tomorrow, but it is drastically weakened by a combination of injuries, the two European finals involving Leicester and Sale, plus the need to rest the majority of players who toured with the Lions last summer. Full squad: Backs: J Lomu (New Zealand), C Cullen (New Zealand), T Castaignede (France), B van Straaten (South Africa), A Pichot (Argentina), P Alatini (New Zealand), T Delport (South Africa), P Montgomery (South Africa), P Rossouw (South Africa), Christophe Dominici (France), Austin Healey (England), S Glas (France), M Robinson (New Zealand). Forwards: A Benazzi (France), A Garvey (South Africa), N Drotske (London Irish), C Califano (France), P Lam (Samoa), K Roche (Saracens), M Ledesma (Argentina), C Dowd (New Zealand), S Taylor (Scotland), T Blackadder (New Zealand), M Reggiardo (Argentina), S Murray (Saracens), K Vanisi (Wellington Hurricanes), J Kronfeld (New Zealand), Ian Jones (New Zealand), J Worsley (England), R Ibanez (France). |
