London Irish confirmed yesterday that Paul Gustard, has signed a two-year contract with the club.

Gustard (25) who has already been capped at England A level, originally joined the Exiles on loan from Leicester in January. Since then he has made a big impact in the London Irish back row contributing greatly to the Exiles' good finish in the Zurich Premiership in particular.

Announcing the signing, London Irish's Director of Rugby, Conor O'Shea, said: "Over the past four months Paul has proven what a massive addition he is to our back row resources. We are delighted that he has decided to join us on a permanent basis. I have no doubt that he will be a positive influence on our team both on and off the field next season. We are grateful to Dean Richards and Leicester for releasing Paul from his contract.

Commenting on Paul's move to London Irish, Director of Rugby, Dean Richards, said: "I am delighted things have gone well for Paul during his loan spell at London Irish. He has played extremely well in the last few months and thoroughly deserves
his place in the England A squad. He now wants to make a permanent move and I will not stand in his way, although I'm sad to see him go. This has been a particularly difficult situation for me as Paul is a good friend, I'm glad it has now been resolved."
