Skinstad retains Springbok captaincy

Springbok coach Rudolf Straeuli has retained Bob Skinstad as his skipper for the second Test against Wales in Cape Town on Saturday, despite the return to fitness of Corne Krige.

Skinstad led the side that beat Wales 34-19 in Bloemfontein last weekend but Krige was hotly tipped to take over when he returned to the starting XV.

Krige's inclusion is one of four changes to the starting line-up.

The biggest surprise is that of rookie flyhalf Brent Russell at fullback, where he replaces the injured Ricardo Loubscher.

Andre Pretorius has been retained at flyhalf, where he will again partner the exciting Johannes Conradie.

In another change to the backline, De Wet Barry is reunited with Stormers teammate Marius Joubert after recovering from a knock picked up during the trials. He replaces veteran centre Andre Snyman, who drops out of the 22-man squad altogether.

Among the forwards, Quinton Davids will make his debut after spending last weekend's game on the bench. He comes in for Victor Matfield, with another Stormer, Hottie Louw, taking his place on the bench.

Springboks: Brent Russell, Stefan Terblanche, Marius Joubert, De Wet Barry, Breyton Paulse, Andre Pretorius, Johannes Conradie, Bob Skinstad (capt), AJ Venter, Corne Krige, Jannes Labuschagne, Quinton Davids, Willie Meyer, James Dalton, Daan Human.

Replacements: Ollie le Roux, Faan Rautenbach, Hottie Louw, Joe van Niekerk, Craig Davidson, Adi Jacobs, Werner Greeff.
