Tigers get favourable Heineken Cup draw

Double Heineken Cup winners Leicester Tigers will be favourites to retain their title after gaining a favourable draw for next season's competition.

The Tigers will be grouped with Welsh side Neath, French club Beziers and Italian side Calvisano.

It is Beziers' first appearance in the tournament while Calvisano were the whipping boys of last season's competition.

Llanelli, who suffered the agony of a semi-final defeat against Leicester last season, are set to face Sale, Bourgoin and Glasgow.

Perhaps the toughest group will see Swansea, Montferrand, Leinster and Bristol vying for the knock-out stages.

Zurich Premiership side London Irish will will be up against Newport, Toulouse and Edinburgh.

And the Blue and Blacks of Cardiff are set to be matched up with Biarritz, Northampton and Ulster.

And finally, Munster, Perpignan and Viadana will provide opposition for Gloucester.

Pool Two: Gloucester, Munster, Perpignan, Viadana.
Pool Three: Glasgow, Llanelli, Bourgoin, Sale.
Pool Four: Bristol, Leinster, Montferrand, Swansea.
Pool Five: Edinburgh, Newport, London Irish, Toulouse.
Pool Six: Biarritz, Northampton, Cardiff, Ulster.
