Dubai 7s returns to World Sevens Series
July 24, 2002

The Dubai 7s tournament will return to the World Sevens Series calendar next year after a year's absence.

The event was controversially axed from the International Rugby Board series last year due to political uncertainties following the September 11 attack in New York but it will open the series later this year over the weekend of December 6-7.

Despite losing it's WSS status last year several top teams including New Zealand, South Africa, France and Samoa still travelled to compete.

The Durban 7s, the second event of the Series, will take place a week later on December 13-14.
