Bell to stay at Pontypridd

Pontypridd chief executive Gareth Thomas has revealed that Duncan Bell will be staying at Sardis Road and will not be moving to Zurich Premiership side Bath.

"We came to the view we could not afford to let him go," he commented, rubbishing claims the England A prop's move had collapsed because Bath could not accommodate him within the Rugby Football Union's £1.8m salary cap.

"There were some difficulties their end but it was a two-way thing," said Thomas.

Bell has one year left on his contract with the Welsh club.
