Five Wallabies facing the axe
August 21, 2002

Five Wallabies can expect the axe ahead of the forthcoming tour of Europe according to reports.

The Daily Telegraph reports that fullback Chris Latham, winger Stirling Mortlock, lock Justin Harrison, prop Ben Darwin and flanker Owen Finegan are likely to be missing when Australia line up against Argentina in their first tour game on November 2.

The newspaper suggests that "Mat Rogers is poised to replace Latham, Wendell Sailor will oust Mortlock from one wing, David Lyons will be preferred to Finegan, David Giffin will return from injury at Harrison's expense and Patricio Noriega should edge out Darwin."

The changes are expected as Jones looks to shake up his side ahead of clashes with the Pumas, England, Ireland and Italy in the hope of finding a better balance for World Cup year.
