SA Rugby confirm Super 12 coaches

SA Rugby have confirmed the Super 12 coaching appointments for the 2003 season.

The news faces among the four are former Cardiff coach Rudi Joubert who will take over from Heynke Meyer at the Bulls and Springbok assistant coach Tim Lane will replace Frans Ludeke at the Cats.

Completing the foursome are Gert Smal at the Stormers and Kevin Putt at the Sharks who have retained their positions from last year.

Joubert will be under pressure to turn around the Bulls' fortunes after they finished bottom of the Super 12 log for the second successive season this year.

But he may be boosted by a three year deal at Loftus, somethig his predecessors have not had the luxury of.

Meanwhile, Lane, who was part of the World Cup winning Wallabies' management squad, finds himself at the helm of a province after being brought in to the Springbok set-up by former coach Harry Viljoen.

This year was another poor season for the South African Super 12 provinces. The Stormers faired the best finishing 7th on the log while the Sharks, Cats and Bulls propped up the log in 10th, 11th and 12th respectively.
