The latest news following the latest round of pre-season friendlies.

  • Cardiff edged out Bath 12-10 in their clash at the Arms Park.

    Bath's Olly Barkley had the opportunity to snatch the victory late in the game but he missed his penalty attempt.

    Centre Jamie Robinson and winger Nick Walne crossed for the Blue and Blacks in the first half.added a second on the stroke of half-time.

    A converted try from Tom Voyce and drop goal from Chris Malone narrowed the margin but West Country side were unable to overhaul their hosts.

  • Northampton battled to a 33-33 against Stade Francais at Franklin's Gardens.

    For the Saints, Jon Sleightholme crossed twice and Oriol Ripol, Nick Beal and Ben Cohen grabbed one each while they were also awarded a penalty try.

    For the visitors, Mathieu Blin, Nani Corletto (2) and Patrick Tabacco notched five pointers but the decisive score came in the last minute from Brian Liebenburg. Jerome Fillol's conversion tied the game.

  • On Friday night Ulster and Glasgow battled to a 19-19 draw.

    Ulster appeared to have the game won late in the second half but the boot of Glasgow's Tommy Hayes ensured the Scottish visitors grabbed a share of the spoils.

    Scott Young crossed twice for Ulster with hooker Matt Sexton grabbing their third.

    Hayes grabbed all of the visitor's points adding four penalties and a conversion to his try.
