Walker crashes while drunk

Wallaby winger Andrew Walker faces a Brumbies disciplinary committee after he was charged with drunk driving at the weekend.

He crashed his Landrcruiser into a power pole at 4am on Saturday at Yass, near Canberra.

The 28-year-old father of four was axed from the Wallaby squad last year after twice leaving training camp without permission to return to his family farm.

Walker appeared in the Australia A side that played Canada at Parramatta Stadium last June but this latest indiscretion may cost him any chance of a recall to the Wallabies in the near future.

Walker is due to appear in Yass Magistrates Court on September 16.

"Andrew has been charged, and will have to deal with any consequences that follow," Brumbies general manager Mark Sinderberry said. "Internally it will be dealt with by our disciplinary committee as it is a clear breach of our code of conduct."

The Brumbies said last month they had re-signed former rugby league player Walker for the next two seasons.
