Sale set for season kick off

The brand new Zurich Premiership season starts at Heywood Road on Friday evening when the much fancied Northampton Saints are the visitors.

The Sharks have had two successful warm up fixtures with wins in Edinburgh and against The Borders last Friday evening. Northampton were in action too over the weekend and drew 33-all with Stade Francais. The Sharks recorded the double over Northampton last season and many believe the 20-10 win at Franklins Gardens in February lit the blue touch paper for the end of season's successes.

Sharks Head Coach Jim Mallinder will be able to chose from a full squad with the exception of Iain Fullarton who is recovering from a close season hip operation.

Jim Mallinder said: "Northampton Saints are one of the sides to look out for this season. I have a lot of respect for Wayne Smith and the way he turned things around for the club last season. The Saints have recruited well and it promises to be a great opener to the Zurich Premiership season."

Jason Robinson said: "Hopefully we will have a big crowd for the game. Northampton were one of the form teams at the end of last season and like ourselves will be looking to get off to a winning start."

Season Tickets have sold well and tickets for this Friday's game are being snapped up by Sharks and Saints fans. To encourage fans to pre-book their tickets this season the Sharks have introduced a two tier pricing structure in that supporters who book at least one day before the game will make significant savings.
