Gould named as new Wallaby selector
September 13, 2002

Former Australian fullback Roger Gould will join Wallaby coach Eddie Jones and assistant coach Ewen McKenzie as a national selector.

With former selector Andrew Slack appointed as Queensland's new coach in July following the sacking of Mark McBain, the 25-Test veteran Gould - who was an assistant under McBain - will be announced as the new selector next week.

Having played for the Wallabies between 1980 and 1987, Gould's international career was cut short by a succession of injuries, but he'll begin his new job by taking in the Queensland Premier Rugby preliminary between GPS and Easts on Sunday.

Gould's first selection task will be to help choose the Australian squad to tour Argentina and Europe on September 25.
