Bath are focussed on getting back into the top flight of european rugby and they are aiming to win the Parker Pen Challenge Cup in order to guarantee their return.

England star Mike Catt underlined Bath's hunger for Parker Pen Challenge Cup success as they attempt to reclaim a place in the Heineken Cup that they won in 1998.

"Having been at the top, it would be nice to get back up there," Catt said, ahead of Bath's first-round, first-leg clash against GRAN Parma. "Our ultimate goal is to be back in the main competition."

"The new format for this season's tournament is designed to revitalise the competition," said Jean-Pierre Lux, chairman of European Rugby Cup Limited.

"The new format of home and away matches promises to provide some outstanding and highly competitive games over the months ahead."
