Sleightholme on wing for Saints
October 31, 2002

Northampton Saints wing Jon Sleightholme has been selected to start Saturday's game against Gloucester at Kingsholm.

Sleightholme will take the place of Spanish wing Oriol Ripol. The other major change from the side that beat London Irish last weekend has been the reintroduction in the starting XV of lock Jon Phillips, who has replaced Steve Williams. The latter is due to be called up by Wales to play against Romania on Friday night.

Head coach Wayne Smith said: "Oriol has played really well but I feel he needs freshening up. I also made the change after Jon Sleightholme played well for the Wanderers on Monday."

Smith added: "We have got good honesty in the squad and we know what wins rugby games. We are not outcome orientated and we will be proud of ourselves even if we do not win Saturday's game, as long as we go out and play the way we are aiming to."
