Arasa makes first start for Sarries
November 1, 2002

Saracens travel to Leeds Tykes on the Sunday for what head coach Wayne Shelford sees as a "must win" Zurich Premiership clash.

After two relatively easy games against Dynamo Bucharest in the Parker Pen Challenge Cup, Sarries returned to Premiership action last Sunday at a blustery Vicarage Road Stadium, just losing to Leicester Tigers 18-26 in front of 10,351 fans.

Gerald Arasa comes on the wing for his first start of the season to replace Tom Shanklin who is on international duty. In midfield Ben Johnston starts alongside Tim Horan with Kevin Sorrell moving to the bench.

In the forwards David Flatman gets his first start since the Bath
game in September after finally getting over a series of injuries
and he partners Christian Califano in a very sturdy front row. In the second row Abdel Benazzi partners Craig Yandell while the impressive Craig Quinnell is poised to make an impact from the bench.

With Tony Roques failing a late fitness test Kris Chesney
switches to blindside with Richard Hill moving to his preferred openside position making way for the fit again Ben Russell at No
8.

Said Shelford: "I've watched videos of Leeds and we are expecting a tough game. They tend to rely on their kicker to win games rather than scoring
tries, but they do like to smash it up and they hold their defence
well. They are obviously in form at the moment and it will be hard
to win up there. But we have to win this one."
