Wounded Wallabies arrive in Ireland
November 5, 2002

The Wallabies have arrived in Dublin to prepare for the second torrid Test of their Northern Hemisphere tour against Ireland on Saturday.

The Australians were still recovering from a rugged 17-6 win against Argentina in Buenos Aires with several injuries causing concern. And they have being warned that life will be no easier against the Irish at a wet Lansdowne Road.

One thing for certain is that the Wallaby side that runs out against Ireland will be different to the one that beat the Pumas.

Winger Matt Burke has until Thursday to prove his fitness with a corked thigh, while fullback Mat Rogers is definitely out with a rib injury as is hooker Jeremy Paul with a hamstring strain.

Burke will switch back to fullback if he is fit, but if he fails to recover, five-eighth Stephen Larkham will start at fullback with Elton Flatley coming off the bench to start at No.10.

Waratahs winger Scott Staniforth, who will join the squad this week as a replacement for the injured Ben Tune, is likely to start with Stirling Mortlock moving in to replace Burke at outside-centre.
