Dallas Seymour announces retirement
November 6, 2002

Former All Black Dallas Seymour has announced his retirment from the game at the age of 35.

Seymour played three games for the All Blacks in 1992 and also represented the New Zealand 7s, Hurricanes (1996 and 1997) and the Crusaders (2000 and 2001) in the Telecom Super 12 competition. He has also played for the New Zealand Maori, New Zealand Colts and New Zealand Universities.

"We have a young family and the time has come to put them first now. Rugby's been a big part of my life from a young age but your priorities change when you have children and I want to spend more time with them and Julie," Seymour said.

He and wife Julie, former captain of the New Zealand national netball team, are expecting their second child in April. They have a 21-month old son Harrison.
