Tykes take Thirlby on loan
November 7, 2002

Leeds Tykes have today signed Bath and England Sevens international Rob Thirlby, 23, on a month's loan from the West country outfit.

Thirlby played for England in the Commonwealth Games during the summer and was also part of the historic England side that won the Hong Kong Sevens earlier in the season.

Commenting on his signing, Phil Davies Director of Rugby said, "Rob is a very exciting player, as anyone who has seen him play for Bath or England will agree. I am delighted that Bath have allowed him to come to us for a month. Diego Albanese and Gordon Ross are both on international duty during November, so he will be a valuable addition to the squad."

Thirlby joined Bath from Saracens three years ago and is originally from Penzance where he first played for Redruth. He has also played at England U21 level.
