Stransky - Bristol case reaches court
November 14, 2002

The dispute between former Springbok Joel Stransky and Zurich Premiership side Bristol over an alleged failure to honour a contract finally reaches court next week.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Stransky is aiming to win damages against the West Country club for their failure to honour a contract agreed between former Bristol director of rugby Bob Dwyer and the former Springbok in the summer of 2000.

Stransky claims he was offered the post of player-coach at the Premiership club worth about £95,000 a year.

The move never went through when club officials blocked Dwyer's move claiming he did not have the necessary executive power.

However, the end of this dispute seems so way off as the club have taken out a summons against Dwyer for the damages if they lose to the former Springbok, who is now living back in South Africa.
