Scotland unchanged for Boks
November 14, 2002

Scotland coach Ian McGeechan has named an unchanged side to face South Africa at Murrayfield this weekend.

The Scots will be looking to build on a widely criticised performance against Romania last weekend despite a 37-10 triumph.

Leeds Tykes stand-off Gordon Ross will keep his Scotland international berth
for the second autumn Test against South Africa on Saturday.

Gregor Townsend had been expected to return to the starting XV for the game
against the Springboks.

But Scotland coach Ian McGeechan has opted to give Ross his third cap after
previous internationals against Tonga and Romania.

McGeechan has also elected to keep faith with the rest of the starting XV
which defeated the Romanians last weekend.

Stuart Moffat keeps his place at full-back ahead of Glasgow Warriors team-mate
Glenn Metcalfe.

Borders wing Nikki Walker earned his second cap while prop Bruce Douglas
prevents substitute David Hilton making an emotional return to the full
international side.

Rudolf Straeuli has made 10 changes to the Springbok side after they crashed to a very disappointing defeat at the hands of France in Marseille last weekend.

Scotland team to play South Africa in the Scottish Mutual Autumn Test on
Saturday is:

S Moffat (Glasgow); N Walker (Borders), A Craig (Orrell), B Laney (Edinburgh),
C Paterson (Edinburgh); G Ross (Leeds Tykes), B Redpath (Sale Sharks, capt); T
Smith (Northampton Saints), G Bulloch (Glasgow), B Douglas (Borders), S Murray
(Edinburgh), S Grimes (Newcastle Falcons), M Leslie (Edinburgh), S Taylor
(Edinburgh), B Pountney (Northampton).

Substitutes: S Scott (Borders), D Hilton (Glasgow), N Hines (Edinburgh), J
White (Edinburgh), G Beveridge (Glasgow), G Townsend (Borders), B Hinshelwood
(Worcester).
