Wallaby 7s squad

Australia has named its squad for the IRB Sevens series that begins early next month, with ex-rugby league player Lenny Beckett named in the squad.

Beckett joined Sydney University after spending the 2002 season with the National Rugby League club the Northern Eagles.

In other selection news, Fa'aleo Kefu will become the third member of the Kefu family to represent Australia at senior level.


Kefu's older brothers Toutai and Steve are both Wallabies, while younger sibling Mafileo has already played for the Australian Under 21 team.

The Sevens team will be under the tutelage of new coach Bill Millard, who replaces Julian Gardner.

The team's IRB campaign starts on December 6 with a tournament in Dubai.
