Balshaw boost for Bath
December 23, 2002

England international Iain Balshaw should be fit for Bath's Zurich Premiership encounter with Harlequins on Saturday after tests on a shoulder injury showed no serious damage.

The 23-year-old full-back sustained the injury as he scored a try in Saturday's Powergen Cup win over Wasps.

Balshaw had surgery on the same shoulder during the summer but the player has been given the all-clear following a scan.

Bath's head of physical preparation Chris Mallac said: "Balsh has pinched a tendon in his shoulder. It was inflamed after the match, but responded well yesterday. We are hopeful that Iain will be able to play against Quins at the Rec on Saturday."
