Reds edge out Crusaders

The Queensland Reds edged out reigning Super 12 champions the Crusaders 19-17 on Saturday night in their Southern Cross warm-up clash in Brisbane. (Getty Images) The Crusaders took the early advantage through a try from fullback Leon MacDonald but flyhalf Daniel Carter was unable to add the extras. Andrew Slack's side bounced back with a two tries before half-time from from fullback Michael Tabrett and centre Gene Fairbanks. The Crusaders clawed their way back into the game with a score from hooker Corey Flynn and then took the lead with another from flanker Matt Mustchin. Then up came Roe to level the scores before Flatley clinched the win. |
