Archer returns for Shoguns
February 28, 2003

Bristol Shoguns welcome back captain Garath Archer to the starting line-up for Sunday's vital Premiership fixture against NEC Harlequins at the Memorial Stadium.

Archer returns to the line-up after missing the visit to Welford Road against Leicester at the beginning of February with a neck injury.

Shoguns head coach Peter Thorburn selects Saul Nelson at hooker with Paul Johnstone starting from the bench. Former Quins full-back Jamie Williams faces his old club and continues in the Shoguns number 15 shirt.

Bristol Shoguns will be hoping to reverse the 26-19 score line from January when the Londoners took all of the points despite two David Rees tries.

Commenting on www.bristolshoguns.co.uk Shoguns and England wing Phil Christophers said: "We didn't perform to our potential against Quins in January and we owe it to the supporters and coaches to put that right.

"It's not about revenge against them, we've got to go out and try and win and get the points. Everyone in the squad is relaxed and we need to get out there on Sunday and onto our game in the first 20 minutes to create a platform."

There will be a minute silence before the game in the memory of Harlequins' scrum-half Nick Duncombe.
