Wales remained on course for the World Cup quarter-finals with a hard fought 27-20 win over Tonga in Canberra.

Tries from Gareth Cooper and Martyn Williams, who also notched a drop goal, and points from Stephen Jones saw them past the South Sea Islanders.

But three tries for Tonga ensured they grabbed a late bonus point for finishing within seven points.
