McCallion quits Fiji in disgust

Mac McCallion has resigned as coach of Fiji, citing his frustration at the Pacific nation being forgotten by rugby's stronger nations. A Super Nine series has been proposed between the southern hemisphere teams that contest the Tri-Nations - Australia, New Zealand and South Africa - and those from the Six Nations - England, France, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Italy. But Fiji has not been included in the plans for the showpiece tournament, and McCallion told AFP it is just such a lack of consideration and recognition that has led to his decision. "It's really frustrating, the lack of help we get from the International Rugby Board and some major countries, and I can't see it improving," he said.
