One change for Aussies
March 30, 2004

Australia have made just one change in their Under 19 side for the second round of games in the Under 19 World Cup against Enmgland.

Coach Scott Wisemantel has brought in Tajohn Malaita at fullback in place of Andrew Smith who has a slight calf strain. Sam Satui, who played fullback, will move to the wing to accommodate Malaita.

Australia wracked up a useful 62-12 win over Japan in their opening match of the tournament but according to Wisemantel there is still a lot of room for improvement. "I thought we showed signs of being clinical, especially in the first half against Japan," Wisemantel said. "But I think there were two reasons we fell away in the second period.

"We have a few players with that X-factor in this team and we don't want to stifle them. As I've said before, this is a grooming process for players to go to the Super 12 and beyond and we want to make sure that we equip them as best we can for that job," Wisemantel added.

Australia: 15.Tajohn Malaita; 14.Sam Satui, 13.Anton Lavin, 12.Lloyd Johansson (vc), 11.Digby Ioane, 10.Matthew Brandon, 9.Dominic Fuller; 8.Leroy Houston, 7.Julian Salvi (c), 6.Martin Perkins, 5.Peter Kimlin, 4.James Horwill, 3.Aaron Tawera, 2.Geoff Abram, 1.Pekahou Cowan.
