Gregan missing from Wallaby squad gathering
October 11, 2004

George Gregan was missing from the Wallaby squad that assembled in Coffs Harbour on Monday for a weeks preparation ahead of the November tour to Europe.

The skipper has remained at Sydney, due to an illness in his family.

Wallaby Coach Eddie Jones says while it's disappointing George has not been able to join the squad for the week long camp, his thoughts and those of the team, are with him and his family. "It's important for George to spend some time at home with his family at the moment," said Jones.

"He will continue his strength and speed training in Sydney throughout the week, while the rest of the squad arrived in Coffs Harbour yesterday and trained for the first time last night."

Queensland Reds scrumhalf Josh Valentine will train with the squad in Gregan's absence, while Australia A members Anthony Mathison and Stephen Moore will also train alongside the Tour squad throughout the week.
