Dixon appointed interim SRU director of rugby

Richie Dixon, Scottish Rugby's head of coach development, has today been appointed as interim Director of Rugby, following the departure of Ian McGeechan.

Dixon is a man steeped in the Scottish game having played for Jordanhill, Glasgow, Scotland B and the Barbarians and coached at club, district, representative, national and pro-team levels.

Fred McLeod, SRU acting chief executive, said: "We expect that a permanent appointment will be made following the SRU agm in June alongside the creation of a new Board, new Council and the appointments of a new Chief Executive and new Chairman."
