Western Force Gold outpace Yamaha
August 12, 2006
Western Force Gold has thumped Japanese club Yamaha Jubilo in a 10-to-1 try blitz at Rosalie Park in Perth. The locals scored five tries in each half, finishing 66-7 victors over a physical but blunt foe, which will be looking to find a way through the Force Gold defensive line before the two teams meet again next Saturday. The only setback for Force Gold was a suspected broken hand to flyhalf James Hilgendorf. Otherwise, the backs - led by an impressive Junior Pelesasa - showed plenty of pace and penetration, and were ably supported by a keen and mobile pack. FINAL SCORE: WESTERN FORCE GOLD 66 vs YAMAHA JUBILO 7 Western Force Gold 66 (Tries: Matt Hodgson 2, Junior Pelesasa 2, Brett Stapleton 2, Scott Daruda, Tajhon Mailata, Haig Sare, Josh Graham. Conversions: Scott Daruda 6 from 7, Vitori Buatava 2 from 3) Yamaha Jubilo 7 (Try: Koji Tomioka. Conversion: Brendan Laney). |
