Toshiba Brave Lupus remain top of the Top League following their 45-17 win over Secom Rugguts on Saturday at Chichibunomiya Stadium.

Luatangi Samurai Vatuvei scored two tries for the two-time champions, who remain unbeaten.

Sione Kepu and Scott Mclead also added a try apiece as Toshiba made it 19 points from a possible 20, following 4 rounds of the league.

Toyota Verblitz, the only other unbeaten team in the league could join Toshiba at the top if they beat Coca-Cola West Japan Red Sparks on Sunday.

Yamaha Jubilo's slump in form continued, as they were held 27-27 by promoted IBM Big Blue. Leading 17-7 at the break, Yamaha seemed to have won the game when Nathan Williams converted a try by Ipolito Fenukitau in the 81st minute.

But IBM flyhalf Takayuki Kase crossed two minutes later and captain Tadanobu Ko held his nerve to land the conversion and earn his side a share of the points.

NEC Green Rockets took a bonus point away from their 33-17 win over Ricoh Black Rams. However, the game was marred by a brawl that saw Ricoh hooker Masahide Okazaki leave the bench to throw a few punches and appear to spit at former Japan captain Takuro Miuchi.

Ryan Nicholas kept up his impressive kicking form of late, landing six conversions and a penalty in Suntory Sungoliath's 55-25 win over Kubota Spears.

Sanyo Wild Knights ensured World remained winless, hammering the Fighting Bull 53-7, while Ron Cribb scored three tries as Kobe Kobelco Steelers beat Fukuoka Sanix Blues 41-22.
