December 11, 2006

IRB North America 4 event organizers have officially set the dates and locations for its second annual iRB-sanctioned competition between USA Rugby and Rugby Canada.

In 2007, the round-robin action kicks off on April 7 with a battle between countrymen, as USA Rugby's two teams, the Hawks and Falcons, face off at the Old Mission Beach Athletic Club in San Diego, Calif., at 1 p.m. This match will follow a week-long training session for the two U.S. teams at the United States Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. Rugby Canada will also hold its first match between its East and West sides on April 7. The two Canadian teams are set to kick off at 5 p.m. at Thunderbird Stadium on the University of British Columbia campus.

The next round-robin games are set for Seattle on May 9 and 12. The U.S. will host two games for each team at Washington's world-class Starfire Sports Complex, which opened in 2004. On Wednesday, the matches will be held at 6 and 8 p.m., while the Saturday games will start at noon and again at 2 p.m.

Rugby Canada plays host to the U.S. starting in late June for the last segment of the 2007 NA4 Tournament. The first match day is scheduled for June 29, at the Brockton Oval in Vancouver, with start times at 1 and 3 p.m. The next match day is July 3 at Burnaby Lake Rugby Club in Vancouver, where the four teams will play evening matches starting at 5 and 7 p.m. The 2007 iRB NA4 Finals are set for early afternoon at Rotary Stadium in Abbotsford on July 7, with kick off times of 1 and 3 p.m.
