It is fantastic being back in Hong Kong. This place holds so many special memories for me. England's Simon Amor reports from Hong Kong

I have been lucky enough to play here (and captain England) for the past five years (including four successive tournament wins) and I have been quoted as saying that if I could live anywhere in the world it would be on the pitch of the Hong Kong Stadium.

The England squad arrived on Monday and there is so much expectation on us. Having won the last four successive tournaments everywhere we go everyone is asking if we will make it an unprecedented five in a row. We do have a good squad out here but there are a few youngsters from whom we are expecting a great deal.

Unless you have been to the sevens in Hong Kong it is hard to explain why it is so special. For a start over 100,000 people will watch the sevens over the next three days, and probably about 70% of those will be cheering for England. The crowd here rival Twickenham and the support is just phenomenal. The final is comparable to a test match in terms of pressure and atmosphere and it proves a fantastic experience for players. Over the last four years 32 different players have played out here for England and 14 of them have since go on to play for the senior England team - thats not a bad ratio in terms of development and experience!

The build up to the tournament is always pretty busy as we only arrive on Monday afternoon and our first match is tomorrow. By the time of our first match we will have had five training sessions and a big part of the preparation is getting used to the humidity and conditions. We had our best training session yet this afternoon and spirits are currently high.

We named our final squad today and it was bad news for one of our new players - Isoa Damudamu. We brought a 13 man squad out here fortunately but Damu unfortunately didn't recover from a slight knock from last weekend in time. He was desperately disappointed but hopefully he will get a chance to play next week in Adelaide.

Our squad is definately a mix of youth and experience. We have a very strong back line with quite a few players returning to the sevens squad, but also have a few new boys who will be new to the experience. If we can win out here then we will be back in with a chance of winning the IRB Sevens series, and it will make the last few tournaments very close and exciting.

There is always pressure on any team who plays in Hong Kong. It is a tournament steeped in tradition and history and as the world's most famous sevens tournament it is the one than every team wants to win more than any other. We know how tough the challenge of winning will be and face particularly tough opposition from the usual suspects of Fiji, New Zealand, Samoa and South Africa, but at the same time we are all extremely excited about the opportunity in front of us.

Watch England in their only home tournament at Twickenham in the Emirates Airline London Sevens on 26th & 27th May. Tickets from PS10 from Ticketmaster.
