New Zealand centre Regan King has signed a new three-year deal with the Llanelli Scarlets.

King had been linked with a move to the Scarlets' big-spending regional rivals the Ospreys but will remain in Llanelli until 2011.

The 27-year-old signed for Llanelli in 2005 from Stade Francais and was a key figure in their run to last season's Heineken Cup semi-finals.

Chief executive Stuart Gallacher said: ``I am aware of the speculation surrounding the future of Regan and I am delighted to say he has committed his future to the Scarlets by signing a contract for three years.

``Regan is a very integral part of the squad and is a world-class performer, and his signature shows how determined we are to build for the future.''
