Sanzar announce S14 referee appointments

Sanzar has announced the referee appointments for the first six rounds of the 2008 Super 14 Rugby Competition.

The much anticipated 2008 Super 14 starts on Friday, 15 February when the Crusaders of New Zealand welcomes Australian franchise Brumbies to the Jade Stadium in Christchurch (19h35 local time).

South African referee Mark Lawrence will be in charge of the opening encounter and his assistants are Phillip Bosch (SA) and Vinny Munro (NZ).

Marius Jonker (SA, referee), Pro Legoete (SA) and Geoff Acton (Aus, assistant-referees) are the match officials for the first match in Australia between the Reds vs. Highlanders in Brisbane (19h05, local time).

The Sharks, who hosted the 2007 Final against the Bulls, will get the tournament off to a start in South Africa when they host the Western Force of Australia in the last match of the day in Durban (19h10 local time). Kelvin Deaker (NZ), Chris Pollock (NZ) and Christie du Preez are the match officials.
