Saracens prop Nick Lloyd believes Sunday's 10-try Guinness Premiership win over Leeds has restored confidence for this weekend's home Heineken Cup quarter-final against Ospreys.

Lloyd, who got the try-scoring under way against Leeds at Vicarage Road, hailed the win and the performance as a shot in the arm after Saracens lost 30-3 to Ospreys the previous weekend in the EDF Energy Cup semi-finals at the Millennium Stadium.

"We know we haven't been playing as well as we should have done over the last month," Lloyd said.

"We were pleased to get a bit of form back after a tough couple of weeks. We played very well in the first half, we shut their game down. And Leeds are by no means a bad side.

"We wanted to work on our defence and ideally not let them score a point.

"Our defence was disappointed at the end when they scored."

Lloyd said the return of centre Kevin Sorrell to the starting line-up after injury had helped Saracens' defence and that now the focus was solely on the big Anglo-Welsh match-up in Europe.

"It is probably the biggest game in the club's history this weekend and it's great to go in with confidence high," said the 31-year-old prop.

"Confidence is the key, the top two inches is where we've been struggling.

"We were disappointed in Cardiff, we didn't do ourselves or our fans justice and it was a very quiet dressing room after the match.

"Ospreys had a very favourable crowd in their favour. Now we know we've got a full house here next weekend and I'm sure we'll get the fans behind us.

"We go into every game confident that we can win. We know we've got the players and the ability to do that."
