Reds captain and scrumhalf Sam Cordingley and wing Digby Ioane are expected to be fit for next Saturday's Investec Super 14 match against the Chiefs in Hamilton, as is flanker David Croft.

Cordingley has been trying to shake off a calf injury while Ioane suffered a badly broken finger on the Reds' South African tour, but Head Coach Phil Mooney expects them both to be available for selection before the team flies out for New Zealand next week.

Croft was forced from the field by a shoulder injury in the dying minutes of last night's 29-12 victory over the Western Force at Suncorp Stadium but Mooney said x-rays had cleared him of any serious damage.

"He's just very sore, but with an eight day turnaround before the next match Crofty will be right to go against the Chiefs," Mooney said.

All other players involved in last night's win also came through the post-match medicals, Mooney said.

With Cordingley and Ioane both having been out for extended periods their understudies Ben Lucas (scrumhalf) and Brando Va'aulu (wing) have risen to the challenge, attracting praise from the Reds' coaching staff.

"They've both done really well and we're delighted with the way they've played. We're fortunate to have tremendous depth in both
