Competitive rugby is drawing to a close in France with the final round of league matches concluding on Saturday, and we're now set for two mouth-watering semi-finals due to be played next weekend.

On Friday Clermont-Auvergne, with home advantage, will play Perpignan, while on Saturday Toulouse entertain Stade Francais.

Clermont booked their home semi with a fourteen try, 95-7 hammering of Dax.

It's a result that sends a big message as Clermont topped the League in regular season by a clear five points, and Perpignan look to have a tough task ahead of them in the knock-out phase.

The team from the deep south will however take in some solid form, after beating Stade Francais 23-19 in their last league match.

That result cemented fourth place for Perpignan, and third for Stade, meaning the Parisians must travel to Toulouse for their semi-final.

Toulouse signed off with a 35-28 win over Bayonne, with four tries from their backline.

It was an unfamiliar line-up in the famous red shirts, with many star performers missing, but the losing Heineken Cup finalists still got the job done.

In the battle for the final Heineken Cup slot for next year, Montpellier were hoping for Montauban slip up, but it was Montauban who grabbed seventh in the league, with a win over Albi 24-17.

Montpellier got their win, 23-13 away at Auch, but it was in vain.

Castres and Biarritz, along with the four semi-finalists, will join Montauban in Europe's top tier competition next season.
