Bayonne notched their first win of this season's European Challenge Cup with a 26-8 Pool 5 victory over Mont-de-Marsan at Stade Guy Boniface. Two first half penalties from Manny Edmonds ensured Bayonne went into the break 6-3 ahead with Mont-de-Marsan's points coming from the boot of Frederic Urrutuy. Edmonds kicked his third early in the second half before Craig Gower and Nicolas Laffite dotted down to put the visitors firmly in control. Replacement Mathieu Maillard converted one score before adding a penalty. The hosts crossed for late consolation try from Simon Ternisien in the last minute but it was not enough to prevent their second successive defeat.
