South Africa's World Cup-winning coach Jake White will reprise his consultancy role with Premiership side Saracens in the new year.

White has recently spent time with the Watford-based club, working on defensive drills during training, alongside close friend and Sarries Director of Rugby Eddie Jones.

White and Jones were in tandem this week as coaches for the Barbarians side that was defeated 18-11 at Wembley on Wednesday night, giving them time to formulate a plan for White's return.

"I am consulting to Saracens to help Eddie," White said. "It is a new voice. It is a tough competition in the northern hemisphere and it is nice to have a new voice, some new ideas. I am just glad I can add some value to a club like Saracens for Eddie."

Jones, who led Australia to the 2003 World Cup final, was an advisor to White's Springbok camp last season, sowing the seeds of a successful partnership. "We obviously get on well and we complement each other in the way we do things," said Jones. "He will have a look on what we are doing and seeing where we can improve. He worked specifically on our defence last week but it could be in other areas. It is about adding value to our team."
