Worcester have suffered another injury setback with the news that wing Chris Pennell will miss the remainder of the season with a ruptured Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL).

Pennell sustained the injury during the Warriors' 38-19 win over Bucurest Oaks on Saturday, and joins fellow wing Miles Benjamin and All Blacks centre SamTuitupou on the long-term injury list.

"Yet again it pains me to inform everyone associated with Worcester Warriors that we have suffered this type of injury and Chris Pennell has unfortunately ruptured his ACL," said Worcester boss Mike Ruddock. "He will be out for the rest of the season and we now wish Chris a successful recovery from this setback.

"Chris is a great professional who has shown great maturity with dealing with setbacks in the past. He has previously broken his leg, for example, but overcame this blow to claim a first team contract. This shows the determination and the perseverance of this talented young footballer and I fully expect him to make a major impact when he returns next season."
