It's that time of year again and in what is now surely a tradition to rival the turkey, the tree and all the trimmings, we're delighted to herald the return the ESPNscrum Festive Countdown for your amusement.

It was one of those annoying songs that regardless of whether you liked or not, you would hear hummed by numerous people on public transport, in pubs and in workplaces the world over. One of the Aviva Premiership's most potent finishers Tom Varndell recruited two of his Wasps team-mates to do their own version of the 'classic'. While it is perhaps not as easy on the eye as the Miami Dolphins cheerleader's version, it was a valiant effort by the chaps:

We've also trawled the archives for some of the best shots of year for your visual pleasure - here we have Quade Cooper making a new friend. It's been a torrid year for Cooper - he sustained yet another injury and also managed to alienate the Australian Rugby Union after lashing out at what he labelled a "toxic" environment in the Wallabies camp. But here he looks relatively content with life as he lines up alongside an animal who could be an unbelievable tight-head.
