New Zealand set the seal on their 11th HSBC Sevens World Series title with a crushing 47-12 victory over Australia in the final of the season-ending London Sevens at Twickenham.

Tim Mikkelson led the way with two tries with Warwick Lahmert, Pita Ahki, Lote Raikabula, Sherwin Stowers and Kurt Baker also crossing to heap woe on their cross-Tasman rivals. Australian just about stayed in touch with a first half try from Allan Fa'alava'au but second score from Junior Laloifi was no more than a consolation score.

New Zealand were the first side to book their place in the final with a 7-0 victory over Kenya thanks to Pita Ahki's try before Australia held off an onslaught from England to win 14-7 in their final four clash.

England finished third for the second successive tournament by beating Kenya 26-19 with Dan Norton grabbing two tries and Christian Lewis-Pratt and Mike Ellery also crossing.

New Zealand finished top in the overall standings ahead of South Africa in second, Fiji finished third and Samoa fourth. Having reached five Cup semi finals across the season Mike Friday's Kenya ended fifth with the hosts England sixth.

Earlier in the day, England came from 14-0 behind to beat South Africa 19-14 after sudden death extra time in the fourth and final Cup quarter-final. Marcus Watson scored the winning try to the delight of the home crowd after a great break from Norton.

In the first quarter-final, Kurt Baker (2), Lote Raikabula (3), Stowers, Rocky Khan and Mikkelson all scored for New Zealand against Argentina with Raikabula's third try his 100th in the Series.

Oscar Ouma then scored twice as Kenya made history with a 20-7 victory against Fiji - their first ever success against the Fijians. Australia's James Stannard then broke the hearts of the USA with the match-winning try in a thrilling 24-19 victory.

Fiji prevented USA winning a third successive Plate by winning 14-5 in the final. Earlier they beat Argentina 26-12 in the first semi final while USA beat South Africa 22-5 in only their second ever victory against Paul Treu's side, the first coming on day one.

Wales beat France 19-7 in the final of the Bowl thanks to a James Davies hat-trick after beating Samoa 21-12 in the Bowl semi finals before Les Bleus defeated Canada 28-14 thanks to Terry Bouhraoua scoring 13 points.
