Pumas and Boland meet in Craven Week showpiece
July 14, 2000

Mpumalanga will meet Boland in the main game of the Coca-Cola Craven Week in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

Mpumalanga beat Free State 29-18 in their first encounter, before overwhelming South Western Districts 26-9 in their second. Boland have been just as impressive. They demolished the Falcons 46-5 on the opening day and then went on to beat the Golden Lions 22-3.

The two have certainly played the sort of attractive yet effective rugby that the organisers would have looked for in the teams that would appear in the week's showpiece.

Western Province and the Blue Bulls also won their earlier games convincnigly. Province beat the Golden Lions 20-12 and KwaZulu-Natal 34-14, while the Bulls were 67-0 and 19-13 winners over Border and Free State. These two teams play in the second last game and will consider themsleves unlucky not to have made it into the week's unofficial final. - Sapa
