Jackson injury doubt for Scotland

Scotland boss Andy Robinson faces an anxious wait over the fitness of Ruaridh Jackson after the fly-half was forced to leave the field after just 12 minutes into Glasgow's clash with the Scarlets on Saturday.

Jackson, who was named in Robinson's 36-man squad for the 2012 Six Nations, pulled up after kicking a penalty to make it 8-3 to the Warriors at Parc Y Scarlets - a match Glasgow eventually lost 16-14. The Warriors will assess his fitness in the coming days but Robinson will hope he can call on him for their opening clash of the tournament against England on February 4.

And Jackson was not the only Scottish international who succumbed to injury. Prop Moray Low was also forced to leave the field, after 25 minutes, with a knee injury.

Depending on the outcome of the International Rugby Board's verdict on the eligibility row surrounding Steven Shingler, the young fly-half may be thrust straight into the international reckoning if Jackson is ruled out.
