Wales face an anxious wait over the fitness of star prop Gethin Jenkins after he limped off against Racing Metro on Sunday.

The 31-year-old left the field before half-time with a knock to the knee and the Blues will now wait to determine the extent of his injury. The news comes a day after two other players in Wales' party for the Six Nations - Dan Lydiate and Rhys Priestland - were injured while on European duty.

Blues coach Gareth Baber claims they will assess the seriousness of Jenkins' injury in the coming day or two. "He's tweaked a ligament in his knee. We'll asses it over the next 24 to 48 hours," Baber told the BBC. "For him to come off a rugby field is not normal.

"After the game he was disappointed he didn't stay on but also disappointed he's got to spend the next 24 to 48 hours looking after his leg."

Wales are already without Luke Charteris for the Six Nations while doubts still surround the fitness of Cardiff Blues centre Jamie Roberts.
