Tour de France winner and Olympic gold medallist Bradley Wiggins became the latest leading sports figure to address the England squad on Tuesday night.

The record-breaking cyclist delivered an "inspirational" speech to Stuart Lancaster's men at their St George's Park training base as part of their preparations for their end of year internationals that will see them take on Fiji, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.

Lancaster has previously invited former England footballer Gary Neville and rugby league international Kevin Sinfield to deliver similar motivational messages during their Six Nations campaign earlier this year.

And his policy of tapping into the success of other sportsmen and women in the hope of inspiring similar feats from his players has been welcomed by members of his squad.

England lock Mouritz Botha Tweeted: "Our guest speaker was only Bradley Wiggins!!!! Very inspirational."

Gloucester wing Charlie Sharples tweeted: "What an awesome evening. Bradley Wiggins came in to talk to the boys! The man's a legend!!"
