Wales flanker Dan Lydiate has yet to decide where he will play his club rugby after leaving Newport Gwent Dragons at the end of the season.

The blind-side flanker, who is currently recovering a fractured ankle which kept him out of all of Wales' autumn internationals, says he will decide his future in the New Year with Racing Metro thought to be leading the chase for the highly-rated 24-year-old.

Lydiate is set to have plenty of potentially lucrative options after starring for Wales in the 2011 World Cup in New Zealand and then being named player of the tournament as Wales won the 2012 Six Nations Grand Slam.

"I haven't decided yet, I've just told the Dragons I'll be moving on," he told the BBC. "I've been there [The Dragons] seven seasons now, I need a change.

"I want to push myself a bit further you know, I just want a new challenge. It was a massive decision, it wasn't one that was done on the spur of the moment, it was done over some time.

"It's just time for a change for me, but I'm just focusing on getting fit now and then I'll make my decision in the New Year."
