Scotland hooker Dougie Hall made his international debut against Wales in August 2003, but would have to wait nearly two years for his next cap, against Romania in July 2005.
He then went on to cement his place in the Scotland squad through the 2006 autumn internationals and the 2007 Six Nations before battling with Edinburgh's Ross Ford for the No.2 jersey. Hall missed out on Scotland's 2007 World Cup squad and was also missing from the 2008 Six Nations, but he returned to international action during the 2008 autumn internationals. He made eight substitute appearances for Scotland in 2009 but was increasingly marginalised in the international set-up the following season but was still selected as part of Andy Robinson's World Cup plans in May 2011.
Hall began his club career with Glasgow Warriors, for whom he signed on a development contract after representing Scotland at U19 and U21 levels, before turning professional in 2002. Hall jumped ship to Edinburgh, playing in the capital for five years before returning to Glasgow at the beginning of the 2007-08 season.
